I grabbed me an Etsy treasury!

etsy treasury ninja pendant Once upon a time I was an Etsy Treasury pro. I used to stay up all night, into the wee hours of the morning, prowling the halls of Treasury and Treasury West and every single time there was an opening, I grabbed treasury after treasury after treasury! My friends would look on in awe as I proudly displayed the many treasuries I'd put together, one for my store, one for one street team I belonged to and one for another team... They named me the Etsy Treasury Ninja Mistress....

*Sigh* that was a long time ago. Now the treasury grabbing has become a rare event. So when I do, it's a cause for celebration! :)

Last night I got lucky enough to wander into the treasuries about half an hour before the next opening was due to happen. I was super-thrilled! So I made DH sit with the MacBook and keep watch over the treasury countdown while I quickly finished doing a few rounds of Frisbee, Bowling, Sky Diving and Canoeing on the Wii Sports Resort (man I wish I could live in that Resort in real life!). When we had about 4 minutes to go before the treasuries opened up, I took over the computer and sat with jittery, bite-my-nails-and-tap-my-feet excitement and waited (without refreshing the page since I'm a good girl). And that's when it hit me, I hadn't even decided a theme! Boy had my Treasury Ninjaness become rusty! So when that blue box popped up I zeroed in on the one thing that's been on my mind lately... COPPER! Been working with it a LOT over the past week. So here it is... my latest treasury... FABULOUS COPPER!

I've featured some of my favorite artists and then some new favorites I discovered last night while hunting for copper creations to fill my treasury with. I could spend ages browsing these stores! The artists are so incredibly talented!!

Here's a screen shot showing the items on stand by on the right:

And here are a few of the copper pieces I've worked on over the past week. There are many more listed at my Etsy store - Art by Susmitha and some more to come over the next few days:

Vegetarian House - organic vegan cuisine.

As you drive up Santa Clara (downtown San Jose) you will spot Vegetarian House bang on the right side in between 11th and 12th streets. It looks like a, quaint single floored house with colorful stained glass windows which cannot be missed. There's little restaurant parking lot beside the building.

From the extremely large variety in the menu to the cozy atmosphere this place has really impressed me! The food is simply delicious and the staff very friendly and polite. During my stay here in San Jose, I've visited this place on so many occasions that I wouldn't be surprised if these lovely people are tired of me by now. But I don't think I'd ever get tried of going to Vegetarian House! :)

I've taken so many of my friends (vegan and omnivore) there so far and everybody has loved the delicious fare! And of course, I've taken pictures of (almost) everyone's food so I can share them with my dear blog readers. :) So here we go...

Rice Paper to wrap Tofu Rolls Deluxe - They bring you everything with a big bowl of warm water. You submerge the rice paper into the water for a few seconds to soften it. Then you spread it on your plate, place the fillings into it and quickly wrap it up before it sticks to the plate! LOL It was adventurous me who was convinced to order this dish. Everyone ended up having fun trying it out though! Mighty yummy too. Enough for me to go to the Asian store and pick up a pack of rice paper to try out (quite successfully I might add) my own, mostly raw version of the Rice Paper Rolls. :)

Monsterville News - Cerlt and Witchy, Puffy and Swampy

Cerlt the Evil and Witchy Poo in loveIn an astonishing turn of events last evening Cerlt the Evil went down on his knees and asked Witchy Poo to marry him. She happily accepted. Cerlt said he's been in love with her from the moment he saw her for the first time at the Cyclops With Secret Super Powers Convention last November. Witchy Poo said she's been waiting for this moment ever since their second date when Cerlt surprised her with a romantic vegan dinner on the beach beside a warm campfire.

Swampy and Puffy in loveThe news came as a surprise to the residents of Monsterville because everyone expected Count Swampula to be the one for Witchy Poo. They were often seen together happily laughing and sharing secrets. But apparently, the secret was that he has had a special thing going on with Puffington since last Summer. Puffy and him are very much in love and they will be moving in together over the Halloween weekend. We should've known! Swampy is friendly, thoughtful, kind, considerate and makes a great shopping companion... the best ones are never straight are they?

Congratulations to the happy couples! :)
